<div class="ExternalClassD6130416A17D47569A3A9D30712A2EBA"><div><div><div><p>Our Acute Home Based Treatment (AHBT) service offers short-term, mental health treatment in home settings. </p><p>This service is for people experiencing an increase in symptoms or distress related to mental illness or substance use. <br></p><p><strong style="color:#ff0000;">Please note:</strong> The third floor of our building is currently under construction to make room for our new <a href="">Community Health Access Centre</a>. Programs and services for will continue to operate as normal.<br></p><h2>Acute Home Based Treatment offers:<br></h2><div><ul><li><p>Treatment in a comfortable, familiar environment with minimal disruption to day-to-day living.  <br></p></li><li><p>Choice, so that hospital care is not the only option. <br></p></li><li><p>Coordinated treatment with clients and their caregivers.<br></p></li></ul></div><h2>How does treatment work?<br></h2><p>The AHBT team will visit your home to discuss your symptoms and prescribe and monitor medications as required. The number and length of visits will depend on your care plan.  </p><p>If you already have a psychiatrist, the team doctor will collaborate with him or her to coordinate your treatment.
