Influenza and COVID-19 Immunization

Getting immunized can help keep you, your community, and the healthcare system in British Columbia safe during this season of respiratory illnesses.

Booking an appointment

Getting immunized is the most effective way to stay safe this respiratory illness season.

Starting in October, everyone six months and older can get an updated influenza (flu) and COVID-19 vaccine at the same time.

Invitations will be sent by email or text message to everyone who has received a COVID-19 immunization in B.C. The invite will have a direct link to book your COVID-19 and flu appointments online.

The best way to book is to wait for your invitation. If you have received a COVID-19 vaccine in B.C., you’re already registered in the Get Vaccinated system, no action is required.

Learn more about booking your appointment and what to expect on the Government of B.C. website. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines, such as vaccine safety and considerations and vaccines and children, on the BCCDC website.

How to get immunized

  1. Register with the Get Vaccinated system
To book an appointment, ensure you are registered in the provincial Get Vaccinated system. You will be notified once you can book an appointment.
  2. Schedule your appointment
Once you receive a notification, you can book your appointment in the Get Vaccinated system. You can select a location, date and time that is most convenient for you.

Alternatively, call the provincial call centre at 1 (833) 838-2323 to book an appointment near you.

COVID-19 and flu vaccination clinic locations also available

When you book your appointment with the Get Vaccinated system, you will have options to book at multiple locations, including some pharmacies, some primary care provider’s offices, and several Vancouver Coastal Health vaccination clinics.

VCH vaccination clinics will accept drop-ins when capacity allows, prioritizing people who need a first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) recommends people get an additional dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine this fall or six months after their last COVID-19 vaccine dose or infection (whichever is later).
