<div class="ExternalClass41C2DBF00CB143659E805AEB241EDCFF"><p></p><p>The Neuromuscular Diseases Unit of Vancouver Hospital (NDU) provides a range of inpatient and outpatient electrophysiological, diagnostic and consultative services contributing to the accurate diagnosis and care of a variety of neuromuscular diseases for residents of British Columbia. Occasionally patients from outside of BC are seen at the NDU. We provide ongoing treatment, education, and support to patients collaboratively as a team. Our team of specialists includes neurologists, electromyography (EMG) technologists, educational and research nurses, and dedicated clerical staff.<br></p><p><strong>Clinic Directions</strong><br></p><p>The Diamond Center is located on Laurel St. between 10th and 12th Ave. Entrances are on Laurel St., Oak St. (next to Shoppers Drug Mart), and 12th Ave. (next to Starbucks). From the main lobby take the elevators to the 8th floor. Follow the signs to the Neuromuscular Disease Unit / EMG Lab. For EMG Lab appointments, proceed to the second window. A neurologist will then take your history and perform a neurological exam. Needle electromyography may be performed if needed. Patients will be provided with verbal explanation of the results and diagnosis by the neurologist.<br></p><p><em>The EMG Lab is also a teaching lab. Under the leadership of attending neurologists; residents, fellows, and medical students may take history and perform neurological examination.
