Our program offers diagnosis, medical management and initial pre-surgical assessment to people with epilepsy. You may also be referred to have neuropsychological testing done.

How to access

    We serve people who have epilepsy.

  • Get a referral

    ​A physician referral is required. Have your care provider complete the Epilepsy Clinic referral form and fax the completed form to (604) 875-4786.

  • Seizure Investigation Unit

    The seizure investigation unit provides inpatient electroencephalography (EEG) tests to record the electrical brain activity that occurs with seizures. Basic evaluation involves an average hospital stay of 7-10 days.

    The Seizure Investigation Unit is in the Neurosciences Patient Care Unit on the 5th floor of the Jim Pattison Pavilion.

    The Epilepsy Program handles intake to the Seizure Investigation Unit.

How to get here

Epilepsy Clinic reception is on the 8th floor in room 8267 of the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre on Laurel Street.

There is pay parking available at our two visitor lots located on the VGH campus:

  • Multi-level parkade at the corner of West 12th Avenue and Laurel Street, across from the main entrance of the Jim Pattison Pavilion.

  • The Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre parking lot is located off of Laurel Street between West 12th and West 13th Avenue.

There is a wheelchair-accessible overpass from the VGH parkade at Level 4 and a crosswalk at Level 2.
