Home-cooked meals are prepared by our staff on site. Variations are made to accommodate preferences and medical requirements. Beauty salon, North Shore mountains view from dining rooms and some bedrooms, Snoezelen therapy room, large outdoor patio.
Residents speak predominantly English, although all languages and cultures are accommodated. The care home is owned and operated by members of the Plymouth Brethren churches.
Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their residents, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada or by CARF.
Philosophy of care
“Be kind one to another, tenderhearted…” Ephesians 4:32. The Lodge motto is “Quality Care in a Christian Setting”.
62 beds in single rooms and 34 beds in double rooms. Rooms are various sizes. Sinks in each bedroom. Most washrooms are shared between two residents; some rooms have private washrooms.
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation. Minimum and maximum rates apply. There may be other costs not included in the resident contribution. Visit our Costs page for more information.
Snoezelen program for dementia residents. Music therapy for groups and individuals.
All floors have ground-level entrances. Three ramps connect varying levels on the first floor. Wheelchairs are accommodated. Most toilets are not wheelchair accessible.
Permitted with conditions.
The Lodge has fish tanks. Visiting pets are permitted on leashes.
A smoking room accommodates residents who smoke. (Use of this room is subject to enforcement of the city bylaws.)
Exit doors are locked to protect residents who may wander.
A paved path winds through the attractive gardens on the Lodge property. A bus stop is directly outside the Lodge.
Smoking or consumption of alcohol is not encouraged. Alcohol requires a physician’s order due to potential drug interactions. Perimeter is secured, but no locked units.
