Food Safety Program - Whistler Health Care Centre
Our program regulates the source, storage, handling, preparation and transportation of food intended for public consumption.
Some of our services include:
- providing information upon request to the general public and in a regular newsletter to the industry about regulatory and food safety issues
- promoting, sponsoring and providing food safety courses to the food service industry, volunteers and the general public
- effecting emergency food recalls
- issuing food service establishments operating permits where applicable
- inspecting the operation of food premises on a routine and complaint basis
- enforce food control legislation
- receiving and responding to complaints from the public concerning suspected illness from the consumption of food products
