The Diabetes Education Centre is an outpatient program providing client, their families, and their caregivers with self-management education and support. Our education centre is supported by program assistants and our interdisciplinary team includes registered nurses and registered dietitians, who are Certified Diabetes Educators. Our emphasis is on prevention and chronic disease management with a focus on healthy living. This program provides interactive group education, as well as individual assessment and support. Sessions and appointments include information on nutrition, exercise, blood sugar monitoring and more to support self-management and maximize wellness.
Pre-diabetes group education: 1 class (2 ? 3 hours)
Diabetes group education: 2 classes; one week apart (4 hours each)
Gestational diabetes group education: 1 class (3 hours) and a minimum of 2 follow up appointments
Individual appointments with nurse or dietitian educator; follow up appointments as needed
Insulin start teaching and support

Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. ? 3:30 p.m.
Program days and times may vary. Program closed on statutory holidays.
