Hip and Knee Arthritis Surgical Assessment Program (ASAP) - Richmond Hospital

The Hip and Knee Arthritis Surgical Assessment Program ( ASAP ) was developed as a result of extensive Canadian and International benchmarking, site visits and a literature review. In each community of Vancouver, Richmond and the North Shore, the local team of Orthopedic Surgeons are partnered with Advanced Practice Physiotherapists (APPs). As per the infographic , the APPs receive their referrals from their Orthopedic Central Intake, assess the patient and recommend a surgical consult or non-surgical interventions.

To access ASAP and the APP teams, a referral from a family physician, or nurse practitioner, to one local Orthopedic Central Intake number is required.
