Bone Densitometry - St. Paul's Hospital

?Provides a diagnostic scan to evaluate the fracture risk and monitor therapeutic regimes for osteoporosis. Bone density testing will determine the mineral content or strength of bones. Bone density values are used to evaluate risk of developing osteoporosis or bone fractures, or to see if a treatment plan is stabilizing bone density. There are no injections and the amount of radiation received is very small. Appointments take 10-30 minutes and there are no after effects from this procedure.
