BC Neuropsychiatry Program - UBC Hospital

Our program treats adults with brain injuries or diseases causing serious disturbances in behaviour, mood, intellectual abilities or thinking processes and somatoform disorders.

Some of the conditions we treat are:

  • Parkinson's disease

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Epilepsy

  • Head injury

  • Anoxic and metabolic brain injuries

  • Tourette's syndrome

  • Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

  • Stroke

  • Dementias

The BC Neuropsychiatry Program  comprises of inpatient and outpatient services. 

  • Inpatient services is provided in two locations UBC Hospital (10 bed open unit) & Hillside Centre in Kamloops (12 bed closed unit)

  • Outpatient services is located at UBC Hospital

Hours of operation

Outpatient Clinic: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Inpatient Units: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Clients must have had traumatic or non-traumatic brain injury and a diagnosed behaviour of psychiatric disorder. Also sees clients with somatoform disorders. The neuropsychiatry outpatient clinic does not accept patients with outstanding/active medical legal cases.

Age range: 19 years and over
