Public health dietitians are registered dietitians and members of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. We provide information and education to support informed choices about food and diet and they also support and encourage nutrition research.
Public health dietitians often work in collaboration with other sectors and other service providers such as Home Health programs, Infant Child & Youth programs, Community Care Facilities Licensing (CCFL), Health Services for Community Living, Inner City Primary Care and Addiction Services.
Home Health - We work with an inter-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and case managers in not only providing healthy eating advice, but also in chronic disease prevention and management.
Nutrition services for the Infant Child & Youth programs - Healthy eating is critical for the growing bodies and minds of children and babies. We work with the public and a team of doctors, nurses, and care givers to ensure you have access to some of the best nutrition programs and information to help your children grow up healthy and happy.
