We provide psychiatric consultation, group therapy, rehabilitation, short term psychotherapy for people with suicidal ideation, bereaved by suicide, or concerned others, to individuals who live with mental illness and substance use issues. Our goal is to support individuals in moving towards accessing primary care resources in the community.
Therapeutic modality includes individual, groups or online therapies delivered in:

72 hour response when clinically indicated for Short term assessment and treatment and crisis stabilization following psychiatric assessment
Psychiatric Assessments (Diagnostic clarification, consultations, treatment recommendations)
- Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders: targets Depression & Anxiety (available for Concurrent Disorders population; also provided in Farsi & Cantonese)
- Life after Trauma: Stage 1 of treatment for Complex PTSD, targeting childhood trauma
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy: depression the result of interpersonal losses, role conflict and life transitions - Dialectical Behaviour Therapy: targeting people with Borderline Personality Disorder
Psychotherapy/psychoeducational services for clients with suicidal ideation, people bereaved by suicide and concerned others. Capacity to include services in Cantonese, Mandarin, Farsi and Spanish as well as limited capacity for 1:1 with the concurrent disorders population
Rehab support for behavioural activation and functional assessments of people accessing our core services
Online Therapy (Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Panic, Family Support, & Insomnia)

- Anti-stigma education

Referrals are processed at the Access & Assessment Centre.
There is pay parking available at our two visitor lots located on the VGH campus:
Multi-level parkade at the corner of West 12th Avenue and Laurel Street, across from the main entrance of the Jim Pattison Pavilion.
The Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre parking lot is located off of Laurel Street between West 12th and West 13th Avenue.
There is a wheelchair-accessible overpass from the VGH parkade at Level 4 and a crosswalk at Level 2.
