Diabetes Education Centre - West Vancouver Community Health Centre

The Diabetes Education Centre has a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals dedicated to provide education for prevention and self-management of diabetes for health living.

We support clients of all ages and backgrounds and can arrange for interpreter services for non-English speaking clients, usually by telephone.

Group education

Type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes is offered in English and Farsi. Fee may apply.

Individual counselling appointments 

Determined by Clinical Team for clients not suitable for group education.

Services also offered

Insulin Therapy; Diabetes and Pregnancy; Pediatric Diabetes Clinic; Pediatric Insulin Resistance Clinic; Young Adult Clinic (for clients transitioning to adult care) and Diabetes Foot Care (see separate listing on this site).

To support GPs in their practice we can also offer Medical Group Visits and Mobile Clinics.

Call reception Monday - Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Physician referral required.

Parking & transportation

Free 3-hour limit underground parking or District street parking.

Eligibility

People diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, insulin resistance, gestational diabetes.
