VGH is also a teaching hospital, affiliated with the University of British Columbia and home to one of the largest research institutes in Canada.

Patients and their immediate family members can request that no information be disclosed to callers or anyone but authorized medical health care providers.
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Visiting hours vary, so check with the unit for specific hours.
Quiet hours are held between 10:30 p.m. and 5:40 a.m. You must have previous approval from the ward or to enter the hospital during these hours.
The Emergency Department at VGH is part of the Jim Pattison Pavilion and the entrance is on West 10th Avenue. For general access to the Jim Pattison Pavilion, please use the West 12th Avenue entrance.
?There is pay parking available at our two visitor lots located on the VGH campus:
Multi-level parkade at the corner of West 12th Avenue and Laurel Street, across from the main entrance of the Jim Pattison Pavilion.
The Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre parking lot is located off of Laurel Street between West 12th and West 13th Avenue.
There is a wheelchair-accessible overpass from the VGH parkade at Level 4 and a crosswalk at Level 2.
