We provide a tertiary service composed of five Sexual Health Clinicians and a Sexual Medicine Doctor, who have been specifically trained in the field of sexual health, disability and rehabilitation.
There are three primary objectives:
To facilitate the sexual health rehabilitation of clients and their families through medical intervention, education and emotional support.
To provide education to health care providers, students and health care consumers.
To lead in advanced research initiatives that will develop the specialized body of knowledge in sexuality and disability.
The program recognizes sexual health to be a private and sensitive subject and the team is respectful of individual and family values and beliefs while maintaining confidentiality around shared information. The interventions are based on nonjudgmental approach and are geared towards the readiness of the person/family and the identified sexual health goals.
