Dr. Brenda Wagner

Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee Co-Chair

Brenda graduated with a bachelor's degree and a medical degree from the University of Michigan and did her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of British Columbia. She was a member of the active medical staff at Richmond Hospital from 1999-2021 and is now a member of the medical staff at Squamish General Hospital and is practicing in Sea to Sky.  Brenda has held a number of local and provincial administrative positions including Medical Director, BC Perinatal Health Program; Program Medical Director, Fraser Health Maternal, Infant, Child and Youth Program; Chair, Richmond Medical Advisory Committee as well as Senior Medical Director, Richmond Community of Care. She is also the current VCH Program Medical Director, Maternity and the VCH Regional Medical Director of Medical Affairs. She holds an appointment to UBC Faculty as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Guest Lecturer for the UBC School of Midwifery.  She is committed to team-based, patient-centred trauma-informed care.
