As Vice President of Vancouver-Richmond, Community, Laura Case is responsible for a wide-ranging portfolio of health care services and programs provided outside of VCH Vancouver and Richmond acute care settings. This diverse portfolio includes mental health and substance use, adult and older adult, home and community care, housing, infant, child and youth, public health, primary care and residential care services. Laura is also responsible for health care services provided in the Downtown Eastside.
In her role as Vice President of Employee Engagement, Laura oversees the VCH human resources portfolio, which includes employee wellness and staff and management development, human resource analytics and forecasting, recruitment and compensation, LEAN process improvement and labour relations. Always striving to enhance VCH as a great place to work, Laura is passionate about developing a culture of collaboration and high performance through staff-, physician- and client- led program and system transformation.
Laura began her career in health care in the 1980s as a registered nurse and psychiatric nurse in the Fraser Health Authority. She has provided clinical care in acute and community settings, including emergency and mental health and substance use units, and home and other community care settings.
Laura holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, a Master's Degree in Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Project Management.
