Emergency training exercise

On Wednesday, April 29 Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and Richmond Hospital will be participating in an emergency training exercise hosted by Vancouver International Airport Authority (YVR) and involving more than 20 other organizations.

What is the code orange exercise?

An annual exercise, this year, a mock aircraft accident will test the response of VGH and Richmond Hospital staff as well as those from 20 other agencies including YVR, BC Children’s Hospital, Richmond Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre. The exercise will include a simulated aircraft crash in Richmond as well as volunteer “patients” arriving at Richmond Hospital and VGH
This regular, pre-planned event is designed to test VCH’s Code Orange disaster response plans.
