Flu policy still in effect in VCH facilities

05/04/2016
A late flu season and higher than normal influenza A cases in BC, which typically ends on March 31 of each year, is continuing this month.
If you go to any Vancouver Coastal Health site, including hospitals, community health centres and long term residential care centres, you must either have had a flu shot or wear a mask while in the facility. This will help protect your loved ones – the people you are visiting – from getting a potentially serious illness.

Flu shots are free

Flu shots for visitors are free and can be obtained at your family doctor, walk-in clinics or pharmacies. People planning to visit loved ones in a health care facility or who will take family members to outpatient appointments are also eligible for a free flu shot.
Clinics are listed on ImmunizeBC's map.

Mask availability

Masks are available at nursing stations, outpatient reception desks and/or the main entrances of our facilities.
