LGH Foundation youth advisory committee members
Know a young person looking to get into the health care field? Lions Gate Hospital Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee is hosting its inaugural Med Ed Conference on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the HOpe Centre (1337 St. Andrews Avenue, North Vancouver).
The event is aimed at senior secondary students interested in learning about the path to a career in health care. Attendees will gain insights and get advice from health professionals and students, and have a chance to ask questions. A UBC admissions officer will also be in attendance.

There is a $25 admission fee and all proceeds will go towards enhancing the patient experience through investment in innovation and medical technology for the new high-tech acute care facility coming to LGH in 2023.
LGH Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee promotes the Foundation’s vision and message in the community while providing youth and students leadership opportunities and development of transferable skills within a health care environment. They assist at Foundation events and also organize their own fundraising events. Committee members range from 16 to 22 years old. Most of the members attend high school on the North Shore or local universities.
