New map helps Vancouver residents find food

26/01/2017

Public Health Dietitians have created a map to help people find places to grow, prepare, share, buy, receive or learn about food in Vancouver. The Food Asset Map includes almost 800 resources and over 300 schools and community organizations.

A survey showed that 64% of people did not know how to find food assets in their community.

The Food Asset Map can help to answer questions including:

  • Where is the nearest food bank?
  • Where can I find low cost or free meals?
  • Where is the closest retail store and what types of food do they offer?

A guide to use the map is available in English, Arabic, Chinese and Vietnamese.
