The search is on. Lions Gate Hospital Foundation is looking for artwork from the North Shore to adorn its 2015 charity Christmas cards with its inaugural Christmas Card Design Contest. Last year's image was a commissioned piece by Ishrat Khan.
High school and intermediate elementary school students from across the North Shore are invited to submit a bright and colourful piece of festive artwork that embodies the North Shore. Ten pieces will be shortlisted for consideration by a celebrity panel of judges, including esteemed North Shore artists Ross Penhall, Bobbie Burgers and Cori Creed as well as Mike Nader, COO, Lions Gate Hospital and the Coastal Community of Care, and Judy Savage, President, Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.
The judges will choose two winning pieces of artwork to be featured on LGH Foundation Christmas cards this year. In addition, they winners will also have the honour of having their artwork featured on close to 20,000 cards.
Deadline for entries is midnight, Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Entries are to be submitted in jpeg format (take a photo with a phone or scan the original) and sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
. Shortlisted artists will be asked to submit their original works for display in the hospital lobby until mid-October.
The winners will officially be announced October 19, when the cards will be available for sale.
This contest is open to high school and intermediate (grades 4-7) elementary students across the North Shore.
