The flu season officially ended March 31 since fewer people are getting sick. This means that visitors and staff are no longer required to wear masks when they are in VCH facilities if they didn’t get the shot.
A big thank you, whether you got the shot or wore a mask. You helped prevent the spread of the flu, and if you visited any of our facilities, you helped ensure that our most vulnerable patients and seniors were protected as much as possible against what can be a life-threatening illness.
And this year, we’re proud to say that 84% of our staff and doctors got the shot this flu season, while the remaining people wore masks. That’s even more staff and doctors than last year, and it’s the highest rate of staff across B.C.!
