Warriors Against Violence is one of several programs funded or co-funded by the VCH SMART Fund and aimed at improving the health and well-being of Aboriginal people.

Culturally appropriate care

It’s a top priority at VCH to reduce the health inequities experienced by Aboriginal people. Evidence shows that when culturally appropriate care is provided, health outcomes are better. VCH is working to achieve this through cultural competency training for employees, through changes to care planning and through policy. We are also working to ensure culturally appropriate spaces are part of our health care facilities, such as the new Sacred Space in the Hope Centre. To learn more visit aboriginalhealth.vch.ca.
