Foundry North Shore received this email from a client who wanted to share her recent experience at the facility:
When I stepped through the Foundry door I was greeted by kind faces eager to help. When I approached the front desk the receptionist greeted me with a welcoming smile and a kind “Hello". When I told her it was my first time she gave me some papers and ensured me she'd have me see a worker right away!
After I completed a detailed health form a friendly intake nurse showed me to this nice room with snacks, art supplies and some of the nicest youth workers. Calming music was playing and that, combined with the kindness that was offered, made me feel at ease. This was completely different from the usual sterile doctors' offices I'm used to. There was a great warmth about this place.
The youth worker talked about art and children, and it felt like I was talking to a family friend. It felt so calming and low stress. When I was seen by a counsellor, he was very nice and also knowledgeable.
On a secondary visit I was having problems with my ears. One of your organizations strongest points is the fact that there are so many services to benefit from all in one building! I like the fact that I don't have to go to multiple locations as that tends to stress me out. I was able to be seen by a clinic doctor who was very helpful, and I felt like she was really listening to me.
Overall, I've had an awesome experience with your organization and hope to continue spending time there in the future.
