When pedestrians get hurt, nobody wins

Almost 1 in 5 people killed in car crashes in our province are pedestrians, with the Lower Mainland having the most pedestrians injured and killed.
ICBC, along with partners including VCH, urging pedestrians and drivers to do their part to stay safe as crashes involving pedestrians spike at this time of year.
The top contributing factors attributed to drivers in crashes with pedestrians are:
  • Distraction
  • Failure to yield the right of way
  • Weather
