Requesting health recordsEveryone treated at one of our facilities has a health record. These records contain documents such as reports from care providers, test results and pharmacy information. You can request records for yourself or a person whose records you have authorization to access. How do you protect my privacy? All of your records are kept strictly confidential. Call the Health Records department, listed below, in the area you were treated. Community services include mental health, assisted living, residential care, youth clinics, infant and early childhood programs etc.
Can’t find the number you need? Contact Health Records Services at the location you were treated and ask for the Release of Information department. The contact information for our locations is listed in the Find Locations section.Is there a fee? No. When can I expect a response? You will receive a response within 30 business days from the date we receive your written request. If we need to consult with others or if we have a large volume of records to review, the time may be extended, as permitted under the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If there is a delay, we will notify you in writing of the reason for the extension and the new due date.
