Burns Lake Mill Explosion – January 23 patient status

January 23, 2012 - 10 am update

Vancouver Coastal Health can confirm that a total of three patients have been admitted to Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) due to injuries related to the Babine Forest Products mill explosion near Burns Lake.

Of the three patients currently receiving care at VGH:

  • One is in critical condition in the ICU;
  • Two are in serious but stable condition.

One additional patient, in critical condition, has been identified for transfer from hospital in Prince George to VGH, but has not yet arrived.

The next patient status update will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 24, 2012.
