Opened on June 30, 2008The Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addiction opened its doors on June 30, 2008.
The centre fills an identified gap in health care services by meeting the complex needs of people who are homeless or living in unstable housing, and who are affected by significant physical and mental health issues and a substance use problems. It offers an integrated care environment where mental health and addiction issues are addressed in a holistic manner. The goal of the centre is to support people regain their health, benefit from treatment and eventually return to community life.
Some clients will be admitted voluntarily through the new Community Court system. |
