For designated sites in VCH Community, Primary, and Long Term Care, Pixalere is used by nurses to electronically document wound, incision, tube/drain and ostomy care.
Student nurses must have placement at a site that is using Pixalere. Student nurses will be directed by their University/College Instructor to attend Pixalere Training.
Instructors needing training for their group of nursing students please contact Neal Dunwoody at neal.dunwoody2@vch.ca.
Training is provided in two parts;
20651 Pixalere Foundations – Student (Through Learning Hub). A set of self-directed modules that cover Pixalere basics.
10848 Wound Documentation: eWMS Pixalere (Nursing-Student). (Through Learning Hub). Instructor led online training expanding on the Foundations modules.
The Pixalere Team will set up registration for both sections in advance. Registration by eForm is not required for this training. Pixalere Foundations – Student is a mandatory pre-requisite for the instructor-led online training, Wound Documentation: eWMS Pixalere (Nursing-Student).
Individual Preceptorship Nursing Students may attend regular Community training sessions (VCH Pixalere Wound Documentation - (Community & Primary Care Nursing). An eForm is submitted by the destination site coordinator or VCH authorizer (delegate) once the Home Health Placement is verified. The student will then be emailed a private link to sign up for a session on Learning Hub.
Nursing students on a practicum placement within Vancouver Coastal Health use a generic student ID for the Accu-chek Inform II glucometer. Please check with your school for the current ID to use. Training will be given by your preceptor or on-site group instructor.
