Nursing Students

Important: Placements at Long-Term Care sites

To ensure safety of our patients, students, instructors and staff on site, Vancouver Coastal Health has implemented a new enhanced screening process.

New students/instructors who are new to the long-term care site or have been away from the site for more than 14 days, must complete the enhanced screening form 3 business days prior to their first shift and submit it to the manager, or to their group instructor if they are a group of students.

Access to clinical systems

CST Cerner

LGH (including Evergreen Residential Care) and SGH (including Hilltop Residential Care) require all students to have training in order to access CST Cerner to document care. Prerequisite on-line modules must be complete before attending training and can be accessed via the Learning Hub. In addition via the Learning Hub, you will be notified of your classroom training which will take place on your first or second day on site. Download  CST training checklist for students (excluding medical students and residents).
