Training

Students in a preceptorship are trained by their preceptor/supervisor.

For group placements it is the responsibility of the on-site faculty to train the students in their group.  We ask on-site faculty to arrange for Omnicell training prior to the clinical placement using a school instructor to school instructor approach.

Glucometer access

Nursing students on a practicum placement within Vancouver Coastal Health use a generic student ID for the Accu-chek Inform II glucometer.  Please check with your school for the current ID to use.  Training will be given by your preceptor or on-site group instructor.
