Why and how does CareConnect offer PharmaNet?

CareConnect is BC’s secure, view-only Electronic Health Record providing 24/7 access to an integrated provincial patient chart for authorized healthcare providers in support of their delivery of patient care. CareConnect is funded by the Ministry of Health, developed and supported by PHSA, and is provided at no cost to private practices.

Medications from PharmaNet are integrated into CareConnect as part of the consolidated patient record together with lab results from the Provincial Lab Information System (PLIS) and Imaging reports from the Provincial Diagnostic Imaging Viewer (PDIV). The medication information within CareConnect displays the last 14 months of the patient’s dispensed medication history.

Are there any differences from accessing PharmaNet via CareConnect compared to other means?

To receive CareConnect with PharmaNet an application for access to CareConnect needs to be completed in addition to applying for PharmaNet with the Ministry of Health. There may be some design and functionality differences between PharmaNet vendors. From CareConnect, you can:
