VCH Richmond Mastectomy Project The VCH Community Engagement (CE) department was asked to gather feedback from mastectomy patients who have received care and treatment from Richmond Home Care nurses (HCN). The HCN team will use this feedback to inform the team’s practice improvement goals, and seek to increase patient satisfaction in the care they deliver. April 2010 Annual Report 2009-2010 This report captures how the Community Engagement Department has helped VCH to involve the public in some of the policies and services that affect their lives. It outlines past achievements and outlook for 2010-2011. Advance Care Planning This report outlines the results of a day-long forum that was held with employees, the Community Engagement Advisory Network (CEAN) and representatives from community agencies to explore how Vancouver Coastal Health can support conversations about advance care planning between patients, families and health care providers.
March 2010 Regional Perinatal Depression Strategy and 3-Year Action Plan Vancouver Coastal Health's (VCH) Steering Committee on perinatal depression is putting together a plan to improve services. To ensure those plans meet the needs of the community, a number of public consultations were held throughout the areas served by VCH this year. This report summarizes what people in the community told us. VCH has already, adopted many of the community's suggestions. For example, some community members are now advising the steering committee on how to improve services. Many of the public's other recommendations are being actively considered.
Eating Disorders Quality Improvement Plan Vancouver Coastal Health is part of the Paediatric/Child and Youth Council which is putting together a plan to improve services. A number of public consultations were held this year and this report summarizes what people in the community told us about the services they were receiving. This feedback has been included in the council's final report for consideration in the final plan that is being developed.
Policy and Procedure Review: Alerts for Violent and Aggressive Behaviour This report outlines the results of a discussion with members of the Community Engagement Advisory Network (CEAN) , to review a draft policy and procedures for screening and identifying patients who present a risk for violent or aggressive behaviour.
