The R.W. Large Memorial Hospital has 6 acute beds, 6 continuing care beds and a 3-bed emergency department open 24/7, along with a laboratory, diagnostic imaging services and telehealth services. Also within the hospital you’ll find a medical clinic, pharmacy and ambulance services.
United Church Health Services provides community health services in partnership with Hailika’as Heiltsuk Health Centre. We are affiliated with Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their residents, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada or by CARF.

Six residential rooms with private bathrooms including sink and toilet. Common shower and common tub room.
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation. Minimum and maximum rates apply. There may be other costs not included in the resident contribution. Visit our Costs page for more information.
One of the defining features of Canadian First Nation culture is the pace at which life is lived. Clocks are not strict task-masters. Instead, the community responds to its own rhythms, and the rhythms of surrounding natural world. In our opinion, experiencing this difference is one of the great rewards of time spent here.
Access to the building is via the ambulance area onto the street. There are no patio’s or outside areas for sitting.
