S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Multi Level Care Society
There is a dining room on each floor, and a living room in each of four resident units. A hair dressing salon and a dental unit are situated on the ground floor. There are outdoor spaces on each floor.
The main focus of the care home is to deliver culturally appropriate care to Chinese seniors. All current residents are Chinese. All staff speak fluent English, Cantonese/Mandarin. There is no religious affiliation.
Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their residents, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada or by CARF.
The care home has adopted the Eden Alternatives as its philosophy for care and services.
There are 5 double rooms and 104 single rooms. Each single room has its own washroom. Shared washroom for two residents in double rooms.
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation. Minimum and maximum rates apply. There may be other costs not included in the resident contribution. Visit our Costs page for more information.
The care home has two buses and field trips are arranged for residents on a rotating basis. The care home celebrates all traditional and western festivities.
Residents who need to use a motorized scooter must be assessed, and deemed safe to operate the scooter by the physiotherapist.
Visiting pets are allowed only if they meet guidelines set by the policy. A pet committee is in place to take care of pets in the care home.
The care home is a non-smoking building. Resident, staff and visitors must smoke outside the building.
All stairwells and exits are alarmed and monitored. Visitors and staff must enter and exit the building through the main entrance, and other designated entrances only. The entrances and grounds are secured at all times.
Situated right at the edge of China town and opposite to the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Garden, the care home is very much connected to the neighbourhood where shops, eateries, banks and supermarket are available.
