<div class="ExternalClassC379C702454442C4B5ED9B23D97B9812"><p>The cardiac cathlab provides angiography, angioplasty, structural heart valve and electro physiology procedures, as well as pacemaker and defibrillator implants.<br></p><p>X-Ray Angiography is a diagnostic method used to identify issues in coronary circulation, heart function and to assess pulmonary hypertension. <br></p><p>Angioplasty is the process of treatment using balloons and specialized metal tubes (stents) to open blockages. <br></p><p>Structural heart valve procedures include Transcatheter Aortic Valve Insertion (TAVI), balloon valvuloplasty and Left Atrial Appendage Closures (LAAC). <br></p><p>Electro physiology is the study and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms.<br></p><p>Defibrillator and pacemaker devices are implanted with x-ray guidance into the heart. Please report to Station 7 (Heart Services) when you arrive to the hospital and you will be admitted for your procedure. When appointment is confirmed, a booking clerk will send a requisition for a blood test to the lab closest to the client.
