Vancouver Coastal Health, in partnership with Fraser Health, is launching the second My Health My Community Survey - the largest local population health survey in British Columbia. The survey includes questions to measure the ongoing health and well-being of our communities. We are working in partnership with local municipalities and community groups, to explore the data to identify health priorities, and support local governments' planning related to health and well-being.
The survey asks people, aged 18 and older, living in the Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Coastal Rural regions, to provide information about their health, lifestyle, community involvement and neighbourhoods. The first My Health My Community survey was completed by over 33,000 residents. Our goal is 65,000 for the second round of the survey, launching in early 2020.
My Health My Community reports and community profiles can be found online at www.myhealthmycommunity.org.
The My Health My Community Atlas is an interactive, publicly available web tool, which illustrates the results of the 2013/2014 My Health My Community survey. It contains population health and wellness information for neighbourhoods in Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and Coastal Rural (Howe Sound and the Sunshine Coast) regions of British Columbia, Canada.
Health and lifestyle data from more than 33,000 Lower Mainland adults has been compiled into community profiles to help local governments, community groups, and health agencies on planning decisions and policy development at a local level.
