Regional and local pandemic plans

Our plan seeks to minimize serious illness, overall deaths and societal disruption that may result from an influenza pandemic.

It will be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure that assumptions, knowledge and priorities are consistent with existing infrastructure and current knowledge. A revision of this plan is currently underway.

Pandemic response plans and resources

The VCH Pandemic Influenza Regional Response Plan provides information on pandemic response at the regional level. There are also plans for each of our four health service delivery areas to support local planning and response:

  • Coastal (North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Sunshine Coast, Sea-to-Sky corridor, Central Coast)
  • Richmond
  • Vancouver Acute
  • Vancouver Community

These plans, like the regional plan, will be updated as necessary. A revision is currently underway.
