Providing skills to open the doors to independence

The SCI Video Skills pilot is an online resource for people with quadriplegia who are transitioning back into the community who want to gain skills to increase their mobility and activities of daily living (ADL).

Why we started the pilot

We started this pilot a few years ago when we noticed that there was a shortage of information available for these clients.

Read the About the Pilot page to learn more.

We need your feedback
The vision is for this resource to showcase the full spectrum of dependent, assisted and independent skills.  Eventually we hope to produce 200 to 250 videos of people with quadriplegia of all abilities performing all aspects of mobility and self-care.

We need your help to take the next step.

Take a look at each of the videos and the different perspectives presented. Tell us what videos are most effective and least effective for teaching these skills.

For example:

  1. Do you like the videos shot in the clinical or non clinical setting (home, cinema, business etc)?
  2. Was it better to accompany the videos with or without text?
  3. How can we improve the presentation of these skills?

Send your feedback to: darryl.caves@vch.ca

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback. We will review all the feedback and integrate it into the next step of the pilot.

How do I access the videos?
Access the videos from the menu on the left.
