Protecting you from exposure to tobacco smoke

Protecting individuals from exposure to tobacco smoke is the most important means for reducing potential harm to non-smokers, as well as a significant contributor to prevention efforts, decreased smoking prevalence, reduced consumption rates and increased quit attempts.

Smoke-free places

VCH Smoke-Free Premises Policy
On March 31, 2008, VCH sites became smoke-free. Smoking is not permitted on VCH properties, including all buildings and grounds.

VCH supports smoke-free places and actively encourages our communities to strengthen local bylaws to protect their citizens from second hand smoke. Several of our communities - including Vancouver, Whistler and Richmond - have enacted legislation stricter than what is required in the provincial legislation.

Creating smoke-free places is an important health protective measure. Making your home and vehicle smoke-free are simple ways that you can make a difference for yourself and loved ones.
