Injuries have a major impact on your health and well-being

Injury Prevention

Each year it is estimated that Canadians suffer approximately 3.5 million injuries, with an annual health care cost of $19.8 billion. In British Columbia there are 1200 injuries and four deaths every day; which is an indication of a significant public health problem.

Injuries are preventableInjuries are often overlooked as a major public health concern, in part due to the belief that injuries are accidents. It has been estimated that 90% of injuries are preventable.
