CALL Out

C.A.L.L. Out! (Creating Action, Learning and Leadership) is our alcohol and drug prevention initiative for LGBT2SQ youth ages 15-24.

We believe that LGBT2SQ youth who are involved in meaningful activities that build their skills and connect them to the community will make healthier choices about drug and alcohol use.

How does it work?We work with LGBT2SQ youth agencies and programs across BC to build capacity in youth.

We know that many groups are short on time and money, so we provide logistical support, funding and other resources to carry out C.A.L.L. Out! programming. 

C.A.L.L. Out! activities

• Photovoice projects: Youth identify, photograph and discuss safe spaces, places and activities in their communities. 
• Leadership skills training: Communication and relationship skills, media literacy, group facilitation, public speaking and event planning training. 
• Mini-projects: Mentorship for youth as they develop their own mini-projects (i.e. queer youth poetry slam, safe & sober drag show, etc…) and put their leadership skills into action.  
• Educational support workshops for parents, caregivers and families of LGBT2SQ youth.
