Our Community Engagement team works across our health region and all sectors of care, supporting and facilitating dialogue between VCH and its communities.
Your Voice Matters
At VCH, we care about patient and public participation, are committed to person- and family-centred care, and recognize that a strong connection to community voices helps improve our projects, programs and strategies. We regularly host opportunities for patient and public engagement.

Discover VCH advisory committees. Patient and public members are recruited to several VCH advisory committees. Vacancies and recruitments for these advisory committees are hosted on engage.vch.ca when available.
Visit Indigenous Health. We are committed to decolonizing our engagement practices and creating a more culturally safe space for Host Nations and Indigenous community members to provide input. To engage with Host Nations and Indigenous community members, we collaborate closely with Indigenous Health.

Why do we engage communities?
To develop and enhance patient and public participation in health service planning and decision-making so that members of the public have a ‘voice’ in the services and policies that affect their lives.
To raise awareness about community issues and concerns that may not otherwise be apparent.
