Who should get tested for HIV/STIs

HIV & STI testing & treatment is free and available to anyone. 

Anyone who is sexually active (oral, anal, vaginal) should be tested.  

Individuals who belong to populations with a higher burden of HIV infection should be tested routinely. This population includes:  

  • Gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men
  • Indigenous
  • People from countries with high HIV levels and their sex partners
  • PWID (Persons Who Inject Drugs)
  • People who engage in the sex trade

Youth services

Youth clinics provide drop-in, confidential health consultation for all youth (male, female and 2SLGBTIA+) without needing an appointment. HIV and STI testing and treatment are also available.
