Most remaining PHO orders lifted as respiratory season ends
June 15, 2023 - While the orders related to visitation, universal mask-wearing, single site order, and enhanced screening have now been lifted, the order requiring anyone working in the health care sector, including students, to be immunized against COVID-19 with a primary series (at least two doses) of COVID-19 vaccine remains in place.
Important: Some facility-specific guidelines regarding enhanced COVID-19 protocols remain in place. Please check with the Destination Coordinator of your accepted placement for the most up-to-date information on the facility-specific guidelines.
PCIS access and training update
October 28, 2022
PCIS Access and Training is no longer required in the areas using CST Cerner as of November 5, 2022. For more information, please refer to VCH CST Split Activation: What you need to know.

Access to the GE CareCast patient care information system (PCIS)
December 24, 2021
Effective January 1, 2022, students at VCH sites will no longer have access to the GE CareCast patient care information system (PCIS). The only exceptions will be Medical Students, Residents and Nurse Practitioner students. Nursing Instructors will continue to get PCIS access, if required, and all students who currently have PCIS access will continue to have access for the duration of their program.
