Here4Peers
The Here4Peers programs allow groups of specially trained high school students, acting as peer facilitators working with adult mentors, to deliver interactive workshops about mental health awareness to Grade 7 students.
The student volunteers work with adult mentors on their presentations, gaining skills like public speaking and leadership, as well as self-confidence and self-esteem. The workshops aim to reduce stigma, increase awareness of mental health issues and coping tools, and improve access to resources.

There are several community partners including the Vancouver School Board, Vancouver Police Department, Vancouver Police Foundation, the Canadian Mental Health Association Vancouver- Fraser Branch, and the City of Vancouver.
Program locations
The program is currently available at David Thompson, Killarney, and Vancouver Technical Secondary School and in time, more schools will be brought in. If you'd like to be a peer, and you are attending one of these schools, please contact your school.
