Food Safety Programs

Food safety programs regulate the source, storage, handling, preparation and transportation of food for public consumption.

Some of our services include:
- providing information upon request to the general public and in a regular newsletter to the industry about regulatory and food safety issues;
- promoting, sponsoring and providing food safety courses to the food service industry, volunteers and the general public;
- effecting emergency food recalls;
- issuing food service establishments operating permits where applicable;
- inspecting the operation of food premises on a routine and complaint basis;
- enforce food control legislation;
- receiving and responding to complaints from the public concerning suspected illness from the consumption of food products.
