Food safety programs regulate the source, storage, handling, preparation and transportation of food for public consumption.


Some of our services include:

  • providing information upon request to the general public and in a regular newsletter to the industry about regulatory and food safety issues;
  • promoting, sponsoring and providing food safety courses to the food service industry, volunteers and the general public;
  • effecting emergency food recalls;
  • issuing food service establishments operating permits where applicable;
  • inspecting the operation of food premises on a routine and complaint basis;
  • enforce food control legislation;
  • receiving and responding to complaints from the public concerning suspected illness from the consumption of food products.
