<div class="ExternalClass3DD91E6A8CB246ACBA79A29E65F6257F"><div><div><p>Our Acute Home Based Treatment (AHBT) service offers short-term, mental health treatment in a person's home. <br></p><p>This service is for people experiencing an increase in symptoms or distress related to mental illness or substance use. </p><p>Acute Home Based Treatment offers:<br></p><div><p></p><p></p><ul><li>Treatment in a comfortable, familiar environment with minimal disruption to day-to-day living.  <br></li><li>Choice, so that hospital care is not the only option. <br></li><li>Coordinated treatment with clients and their caregivers.<br></li></ul><p></p><p></p></div><p>How does treatment work?<br></p><p>The AHBT team will visit your home to discuss your symptoms and prescribe and monitor medications as required. The program provides home visits by a nurse and psychiatrist 2-3 times per week where mental health concerns can be addressed. <br></p><p>If you already have a psychiatrist, the team doctor will collaborate with him or her to coordinate your treatment.
