All rooms come with basic furnishings but residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms. Meals are prepared in-house and resident feedback is sought to plan menus.
Adanac has an interdisciplinary team that includes:
- Nurses (Registered, Licensed Practical Nurses, Educator & Clinician)
- Long-Term Care Aides
- Primary Care Physician
- Rehabilitation Assistant
- Social Worker
- Recreation Therapy
- Music & Art Therapy
Adanac supports diverse people with individualized needs. Residents are predominantly English speaking.
Accreditation is an external peer review process to assess and improve the services health care organizations provide to their residents, based on standards of excellence set by Accreditation Canada or by CARF.
There are 67 singe rooms with ensuite bathrooms. There are 3 semi-private rooms.
Residents pay 80% of their after tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation. Minimum and maximum rates apply. There may be other costs not included in the resident contribution. Visit our Costs page for more information.
We provide a wide variety of programs to support resident engagement and quality of life. These include current event discussions, bowling, bingo, video nights and community outings. Several residents have volunteer responsibilities within the building and many attend programs and activities in the community.
Adanac Park Lodge is fully wheelchair accessible.
Outdoor type scooters are not to be used in the building.
Adanac welcomes registered therapeutic pets for visits.
No smoking in resident rooms. There is a designated smoking patio on the second floor.
Smoke detectors are installed in all rooms and elevators. Security cameras are located in designated areas throughout the building and underground parking. Visitors must ring the doorbell after 7:00 p.m.
Adanac is located in the beautiful setting of Adanac Park with extensive green space that is accessible to wheelchairs. There is bus transportation next door to the facility with two bus routes – each has access to the Skytrain and the Kootney Loop bus exchange. Located on a major arterial road (Boundary Road), there are ample restaurants and shopping within a one-mile radius.
Alcohol and drug use is not permitted in the care home.
