Charlene ChiangCharlene ChiangVice President, Communications and Strategic Partnerships<p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">As Vice President of Communications and Strategic Partnerships, Charlene Chiang is the principal brand ambassador for Vancouver Coastal Health, connecting people to our caring, curious and courageous organizational culture. Leading a purpose-driven team, Charlene is responsible for driving impactful communications and inspiring exceptional patient-centred experiences.</p><p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">An award-winning, strategic communicator with extensive experience positioning organizations as leaders in the marketplace, Charlene has worked with international brands in the health, conservation, tourism, food and beverage and financial services sectors. Fernando PicaFernando PicaChief Financial Officer and VP, Strategic Business Services<p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">A values-based leader, Fernando Pica is passionate about health care and aligns with our purpose of coming together as one collective team to deliver an exceptional care experience for all. He brings significant expertise in all aspects of finance within health, and has substantial experience with large, complex organizations, leading teams of 60+ across a number of functions in finance, procurement and contracting. </p><p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">Most recently, he was the vice president, finance and chief financial officer for Cardinal Health (Canada and Latin America), where he helped shape the organization's business and finance strategy. He was responsible for overseeing all financial matters, contracting government relations and served as chair of the company's pension and compensation plan committees. </p><p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">Prior to that, he held the role of vice president of finance, procurement and lab operations for Sinai Health System, and was part of the successful amalgamation of Mount Sinai Hospital and Bridgeport Active Healthcare. In his previous roles with MDS (LifeLabs, Sciex and Nordion) and Iovate Health Sciences, he helped shape overall business strategy, raise capital and sponsor many new ventures including digital marketing and molecular genetics. His experiences include building finance teams, procedures and systems from the ground up in Canada and internationally. Darcia PopeDarcia PopeVice President and Chief Transformation Officer<p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">As Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer, Darcia Pope supports the measurement and realization of benefits and outcomes of transformation initiatives that shape the way VCH provides care and service. She identifies barriers and strategies to ensure initiatives and projects remain on track, move to completion, and are aligned with the organization's strategic priorities and long term financial plans.<br></p><p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">With a Bachelor of Commerce degree and Masters in Health Administration, delivering results is something Darcia has extensive experience in. Her health career has included roles as Patient Care Manager for the Outpatient Department at St. Paul's Hospital and Change Leader for the amalgamation of Providence Health Care. Darcia joined VCH in 2002 where among her roles was Director of Enterprise Services in IMITS and the new position of Executive Director of Transformation. In that role, Darcia's focus would shift over the years to include Workforce Optimization, Green Care, Primary and Community Systems projects, and Strategic Initiatives. Brett SparksBrett SparksVice President, Employee Engagement<p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">Brett brings extensive leadership to building high-performance, team-based cultures in large, complex environments and demonstrates our values of caring for everyone, always learning and striving for better results. He is deeply committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where people feel supported and valued in an inclusive environment. </p><p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">Brett brings more than 20 years of progressive experience in human resources. Most recently, he was Vice President, People & Corporate Responsibility at Hootsuite, where he led a team focused on increasing employee engagement and staff retention strategies. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Human Resources at EA Canada and BioWare where he was responsible for engaging a global team by delivering change leadership, executive coaching, performance management and employee development. At EA, Brett launched a successful talent acquisition program to recruit industry top talent as well as delivering a people-first approach to increasing employee satisfaction and engagement levels across the organization. He has also held senior roles at Activplant, a manufacturing intelligent software firm, and Nortel Networks, a telecommunications organization. <br></p><p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph"><br>In addition to his experience spanning start-ups to successful Fortune 500 companies, Brett is an authentic leader with a passion for patient-centred care. Ron QuirkRon QuirkChief Information Officer<p class="phsa-rteElement-Paragraph">Ron Quirk oversees Information Management and Information Technology Services (IMITS) for VCH, as well as similar services in the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Providence Health Care under a consolidated service model. He is also the current director of the Clinical Systems Transformation project.  A leader in health care technology, Ron is a leader in health care technology, with more than 30 years in progressively senior positions to the role including executive director of several portfolios within PHSA prior to taking on the consolidated leadership role. He brings extensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of our clinical systems and business environments and has worked extensively on evolving provincial eHealth initiatives such as the Provincial Lab Information System and  Provincial Diagnostic Imaging Viewer.<br></p><img alt="Ron Quirk" src="/PublishingImages/Ron-Quirk.jpg?RenditionID=5" style="BORDER:0px solid;" />Ron Quirk oversees Information Management and Information Technology Services (IMITS) for VCH, as well as similar services in the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Providence Health Care under a consolidated service model.
