Transportation support for COVID-19 vaccination appointments

TransLink and HandyDART has offered to work with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) to provide additional support to community members in Metro Vancouver who may need assistance to get to and from a COVID-19 vaccination clinic.


Transportation support is available for seniors or other community members living in Metro Vancouver who are facing barriers around transportation, such as limited options or affordability, or are needing assistance in getting to and from their vaccination appointment due to a mobility, visual or cognitive impairment. (Fraser Health region residents can click here for transportation assistance.)

Requesting transportation support

  1. Sign up and book your COVID-19 vaccine appointment through the provincial Get Vaccinated website, call centre (1-833-838-2323) or in person at a Service B.C. office. Translation services are available at the call centre.

  2. Request transportation support in Metro Vancouver at least one week in advance of your vaccination appointment as this line is monitored midday on Wednesdays for the following week.

When requesting transportation support, please provide the following information: 

  • Name and contact phone number of the passenger

  • Pickup address in Metro Vancouver

  • Vaccination appointment date, time and clinic location

Assistance by HandyDART

For people who are unable to safely navigate conventional public transit without assistance, you can arrange a ride with HandyDART in Metro Vancouver within one week of your vaccination appointment.
